Objective:To investigate the effect of different levels of Enolase-1 expression in liver cancer tissues on the prognosis of patients after radical resection of liver cancer. Methods:Retrospective analysed the 42 clinical cases with hepatocellular carcinoma who underwent radical resection of hepatocellular carcinoma from October 2015 to December 2018 in the department of general surgery of the second affiliated hospital of zhejiang university.Kaplan-meier method was used to compare the survival and recurrence of the ENO1 high-expression group and the ENO1 low-expression group, and Cox regression analysis was used to determine the independent risk factors affecting the survival and recurrence of liver cancer patients. The primary endpoint was tumor recurrence;Secondary endpoints included patient death.Result:A total of 42 patients were included who met the criteria, including 21 patients in the high ENO1 expression group and 21 patients in the low ENO1 expression group.Up to February 2019,42 patients had complete follow-up and the follow-up rate was 95.24%(40/42).The total average follow-up time was 19.91 months(95%CI:16.91-22.91),median follow-up time was 19.00 months(95%CI:16.91-22.91).In high ENO1 expression group, the average follow-up time was 18.50 months(95%CI:13.92-23.08)and the median follow-up time was 18.00 months(95%CI:13.91-22.09);In the low ENO1 expression group, the average follow-up time was 21.13 months(95%CI:17.16-25.10)and the median follow-up time was 22.00 months(95%CI:17.66-26.34);According to the results of univariate analysis of preoperative clinicopathological data of the patients,it was indicated that tumor diameter?5cm(P=0.19)and MVI positive(P=0.116)might be risk factors for high ENO1 expression. We further conducted multivariate analysis of tumor diameter and MVI,and found that neither of them were related risk factors for high ENO1 expression in the patients.According to Kaplan-Meier analysis, the disease-free survival rate of the ENO1 high-expression group was lower than that of the ENO1 low-expression group, the disease-free survival rates at 6,12 and 18 months were 70.2%,46.2%,39.6%vs.85.4%,80.1%,72.1%(P=0.016)in patients with high ENO1 expression and low ENO1 expression.Cox regression analysis showed that the risk of recurrence was 3.470 times higher in the high ENO1 expression group than in the low ENO1 expression group(95%CI:1.192-10.106,P=0.023).However,there was no statistically significant difference(P=0.115)in overall survival between the high ENO1 expression group and the low ENO1 expression group. Conclusion:In this study, the risk factors related to ENO1 need to be discussed and analyzed in larger case samples. The high expression of ENO1 was significantly correlated with the recurrence rate of HCC patients(P<0.05),but the correlation between the high expression of ENO1 and the overall survival rate of HCC patients still needs to be further explored and analyzed by increasing the follow-up time.In conclusion,ENO1 has the potential to become a pathological marker for the prognosis of HCC patients.
