Study Of Effect Of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation On Unilateral Neglect After Stroke

Objective:Unilateral neglect is one of the functional disorders with high incidence after stroke.It has a definite adverse effect on the recovery of other functional disorders after stroke.Early correction of unilateral neglect can eliminate or alleviate this effect.Transcranial direct current stimulation(tDCS)can stimulate the brain in a non-invasive way and regulate nerves in specific areas of the brain.At present,some studies have applied tDCS to unilateral neglect treatment,but the results of these studies are not uniform,and most of them focus on the immediate effect of stimulation and there are relatively few studies on the after-effect.Therefore,this study explores the therapeutic effect of tDCS in unilateral neglect and whether the therapeutic effect has a after-effect.Methods:Twenty-four patients with post-stroke neglect were randomly divided into experimental group and control group,with 12 cases in each group.Both groups received routine rehabilitation after stroke,and the experimental group received additional tDCS anodic stimulation.The intensity of tDCS was 1.6 mA,the stimulation time was 20 minutes,the size of stimulation plate was 5 cm x 7 cm,the anode plate was placed in the right posterior parietal lobe,and the cathode plate was placed in the opposite orbital region.The treatment was once a day,5 days a week for 2 weeks.Before treatment,after treatment and 10 days after treatment,line segment cancellation test,star cancellation test and line segment bisection test were used for evaluation.Results:After the treatment,the scores of line cancellation test,star cancellation test and line bisection test in the experimental group were significantly improved(P < 0.05),while the scores of line cancellation test,star cancellation test and line bisection test in the control group had no statistical significance.Moreover,the results of three tests in the experimental group did not show worsen after the treatment and 10 days after the treatment.There was no significant difference in performance.Conclusion:In the treatment of unilateral neglect,tDCS can produce a definite immediate effect,improve unilateral neglect symptoms,and produce a certain after-effect,so that the improvement effect of treatment can be maintained to 10 days after stimulation.
