| Objective:To observe the correlation between bone mineral density and bone metabolic makers in postmenopausal women with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods:A retrospective analysis was made in 385 cases of postmenopausal women patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.BMD of the hip, lumbar spine(L1–4),femoral neck,Wards triangle and greater trochanter were determined by dualenergy X-ray absorptiometry(DXA).General data such as age,Years since menopause, height, weight and duration of DM were collected.Bone metabolic markers such as PTH、BALP were determined by ChemiLuminescence method, electrochemical analysis was used for PINP、BGP andβ-CTX.According to T score, the patients were divided into three groups:osteoporosis group(n=233),osteopenic group(n=101)and normal bone mass group(n=51).Datas of general clinical informations, bone metabolic makers and bone mineral density etc were analyzed to identify the correlation of bone mineral density and bone metabolic makers. Results:there were no significant differences in general data among the groups, including age、menopause、duration of diabetes、BMI and HbA1c level(P>0.05).And Ca,Mg,P and PTH among the three groups were also not significantly different(P>0.05).Blood 25(OH)D level in the osteoporosis group was significantly different from that in the osteopenic group(P<0.05),while there was no significant difference among the osteoporosis group、osteopenic group and the normal bone mass group(P>0.05).The level of BGP and PINP in osteoporosis group is the highest compared with osteopenic group and normal bone mass group(P<0.05),and there was also significant difference between the osteopenic group and the normal bone mass group(P<0.05).Compared with the normal bone mass group, the level ofβ-CTX significantly increased in the osteoporosis group and the osteopenic group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed that PINP,BGP andβ-CTX were negatively correlated with BMD level and that 25(OH)D was postivately correlated with BMD level. Conclusion:With the decreasing of bone density,PINP、BGP andβ-CTX increase gradually in postmenopausal women with type 2 diabetes mellitus(P<0.05). |
