Objective:A meta-analysis was performed on all published randomized controlled trials to evaluate the curative effect of maintenance therapy for extensive stage small cell lung cancer. Methods: Searching PubMed ? Cochrane Library?CNKI?wan fang, collect all the maintenance treatment for extensive stage small cell lung cancer patients curative effect evaluation of randomized controlled trials,to extract the data and evaluate the quality of literature.Rev man5.3 software was used for statistical analysis and 95% confidence interval estimation.According to the size of I2,the relative risk(RR)and risk ratio(HR)were calculated by using fixed effect model and random effect model. Results:A total of 8 prospective randomized controlled studies were included, with a total of 636 patients enrolled after standard first-line chemotherapy,Statistical results showed that 1-year survival rate(RR:1.39,95% CI:1.14 ~ 1.70,P= 0.001)and 2-year survival rate(RR:2.99,95% CI: 1.61 ~5.58,P=0.0006),progression-free survival(HR: 0.83 % CI: 0.74 ~ 0.92,P=0.0005)and overall survival(HR: 0.91,95% CI: 0.81 ~ 1.02,P= 0.12)Conclusion:maintenance therapy did not improve overall survival of wider stage small cell lung cancer, but can improve the patients1 year and 2 years survival rate and progression-free surial.Subgroup analysis indicated that oral administration of etoposide could improve 1-year and 2-year survival rates.
