| ObjectsThe pestle needle therapy is used to intervene chemotherapy patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer,evaluate the effect of pestle acupuncture on improving adverse reactions in digestive tract,anxiety,and depression,symptoms of chemotherapy patients,as well as the effect on routine blood count,liver function and kidney function.It provides a new method to solve the side effect of chemotherapy patients with lung cancer and improve their life quality.MethodFrom March 2018 to January 2019,in an oncology 3A hospital in Chengdu,we use a randomized controlled clinical trial,follow the inclusive and exclusive criteria,and take informed consent of 80 cases of chemotherapy patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer as the research object for our study: 40 cases were randomly divided into pestle needle group and control group by random number table method.Patients with lung cancer chemotherapy in both groups were treated with routine therapy and nurse,but the pestle needle group receives additional pestle needle treatment starting from the first day of chemotherapy,once a day for total 2 weeks.The gastrointestinal adverse reaction Scale,Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS)and MDAnderson Symptom Inventory,blood routine count,liver function and renal function indexes were evaluated on these patients' gastrointestinal adverse reactions,negative emotions,symptoms of chemotherapy patients,blood routine count,liver function and renal function indexes after 1 week and 2 weeks' intervention.ResultsThe trial involves 73 patients,including 37 cases in the needle-pestle group(1 case was excluded and 2 cases fell off)and 36 cases in the control group(1 case was excluded and 3 cases fell off).1.Gastrointestinal adverse reactions scores: 1 week after intervention,the scores of 3 dimensions(nausea,vomiting,diarrhea and constipation)of adverse reactions in the digestive tract in the needle-pestle group were all lower than the control group's,which had very significant differences in statistics(P<0.05);the other dimensions' score(anorexia,palpitation)(P > 0.05)showed no difference.2 weeks after the intervention,the scores of every dimension of adverse reactions in the digestive tract in the needle-pestle group were all lower than the other ones',and this result also had very statistical differences(P<0.05).2.Anxiety scores(SAS): There was no difference in anxiety scores between these two groups after 1 week's intervention(P > 0.05).However,after 2 weeks' intervention,the anxiety scores in the needle-pestle group were lower than the other group's,and this difference was statisticallysignificant(P<0.05).3.Depression score(SDS): Depression scores in these two groups had no difference after 1 and 2 weeks' intervention(P > 0.05).4.MDASI symptom scores: After 1 week's intervention,the scores of 5 dimensions of core symptoms(fatigue,nausea,drowsiness,dry mouth,and vomiting)in the needle-pestle group were all lower than the other group's(P<0.05);There was no difference in scores of other dimensions between these two groups(P > 0.05).The effect of core symptoms on life in the needle-pestle group showed no difference in all dimensions between these groups(P > 0.05).After 2 weeks' intervention,the scores of every dimension of the core symptoms in the needle-pestle group were all lower than the control group's,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);In the scores of the influence of core symptoms on life in the needle-pestle group,the scores of physical activity,emotion,interpersonal communication,walking,and life pleasure were all lower than the other ones',and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);There was no difference in the influence of core symptoms on work between these groups(P > 0.05).5.The biochemical indicators: After 2 weeks' intervention,the hemoglobin count of the needle-pestle group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05);There was no difference in white blood cell,red blood cell and plateletcount between the groups(P > 0.05),and neither in liver function and renal function count(P > 0.05).ConclusionPestle needle therapy can effectively relieve the adverse reactions of chemotherapy patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer,improve the gastrointestinal discomfort,reduce anxiety,and hemoglobin count,as well as symptoms in patients with chemotherapy group.In addition,needle pestle therapy is a very simple,safe,effective and cheap way which is valuable to advocate clinically. |
