Objective:To investigate the feasibility of contrast enhanced spectral mammography in the diagnosis of breast cancer,we compared CESM,MG and CE-MRI in the detection and size estimation of pathologically proven breast cancers. To compare different molecular subtypes of breast cancer with morphologic features in contrast enhanced spectrum mammography(CESM)and biomarkers and explore the relationships between the morphologic features in CESM and pathologic factors of breast cancer.Materials and Methods:After ethical approval,91 women with recently clinically diagnosed with breast cancer underwent CESM,MG and CE-MRI.Two experienced breast radiologists independently review the images, and measured the average maximum dimension of the suspicious lesions. Each results of three imaging techniques were compared to pathological results.ER,PR,C-erb-B2,34?E12,E-cadherin,Ki-67 and p53 were chosen as biomarkers of breast cancer and the the expression of these biomarkers are grouped as follows. Results:CESM has better diagnostic performance. The morphological features of CESM and biomarkers of breast cancer among four different subtypes molecular, such as the lesions' average maximum dimension, shape, margin, enhancement and enlargement of lymph node, were statistically different. There was no difference between CESM and pathology in the measurement of lesions' average maximum dimension(P<0.050)and the correlation with CESM and pathology measurements indicated an r value of 0.92(P<0.050).Furthermore,the correlation of total scores of each lesion between morphological characteristics in CESM and clinical pathologic markers indicated an r value of 0.57(P<0.050).Conclusion: CESM has better diagnostic performance.Different molecular subtypes of breast cancer in CESM have different morphological characteristics, which can be judged through the morphological characteristics of tumor in CESM;morphological characteristics of CESM were associated with the expression of biomarkers, which can guide some clinical routines through the morphological characteristics of CESM and biological markers of breast cancer.
