Objective make a comparison of short-term and long-term effect between transcatheter arterial embolization and hepatectomy for patients with ruptured hepatocellular carcinoma.Method search related studies in databases(Cocrhane,EMbase,PubMed and CNKI)which include transcatheter arterial embolization(test group)and hepatectomy(contrast group)for ruptured hepatocellular carcinoma.30-day mortality or 1-year survival should be observed in those studies. Then a meta-analysis was performed by using Review Manager 5.3.Results 9 studies and 330 patients were finally included. There were no statistical difference between test group and contrast group in 30-day mortality(OR=1.34,95% CI=0.61~2.96,P=0.46)and 1-year survival(OR=1.14,95% CI=0.59~2.20,P=0.70).Conclusion With the same short-term and long-term efficacy, transcatheter arterial embolization is a better choice for ruptured HCC for itsconvenience, accuracy and low risk.
