| Objective:Meta analysis was used to evaluate the value of advanced glycation end products(AGEs)in predicting major adverse cardiovascular events(MACE).Methods:We searched CNKI,Wangfang,VIP,PubMed,Embase,Cochrane Library etc database to affirm prospective studies about the relationship between AGEs level and MACE.Revman 5.3 software was used for statistical analysis. Results:A total of 10 data in 9 studies were included and 76609 cases were involved.Meta analysis results show that there was a significant correlation between the level of AGEs and the occurrence of MACE and the higher the AGEs,the higher the MACE risk(HR:1.60;95%CI:1.46-1.74).There is no apparent heterogeneity among the studies included in the study(I~2=42%,P=0.08).Subgroup analysis shows that AGEs levels were positively correlated with the risk of MACE in patients with diabetes mellitus(HR:1.89,95%CI:1.44-2.48)and kidney disease(HR:1.87,95%CI:1.36-2.56).Conclusion:The level of AGEs measured by skin autofluorescence is significantly correlated with major adverse cardiovascular events. In general, diabetes and nephropathy, higher levels of AGEs predicted a higher risk of cardiovascular events. |
