Objective To perform a meta-analysis of published studies exploring the association of the Assessment for Retreatment with TACE(ART)score with overall survival(OS)in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods Relevant studies were identified by searching the PubMed,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,Embase and Chinese database of CNKI,wanfang and VIP until March 2,2019.We combined hazard ratios(HRs)and 95% confidence intervals(CIs)to assess the correlation between ART and OS in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. Results 13 studies involving 17 Cohort with 5817 participants from several countries were included in the meta-analysis.In a pooled analysis of all studies, high ART score predicted poorer OS(HR:2.39,CI:1.86-3.07,P<0.00001).Subgroup analyses stratified by etiology, sample capacity, ethnicity all showed that high ART score predicted poorer OS similarly. Conclusions Our findings indicate that ART score may have prognostic value in hepatocellular carcinoma,as we detected a significant association between high ART score and poorer OS.Further studies are warranted to draw firm conclusions. |
