Objectives Determination of changes in visfatin levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)complicated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)with different carotid intima-media thickness(CIMT),to analyze the relationship between carotid intima thickening and visfatin levels, and provide a new perspective for the prevention and treatment of vascular disease in patients with diabetes mellitus complicated with nonalcoholic fatty liver. Methods Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in North China University of Technology Hospital were selected according to the requirements, selection based on carotid intima-media thickness(CIMT).With CIMT equal to 1.0mm as the boundary value,80 patients with CIMT less than the cut-off value were selected as the control group, and 90 patients with CIMT greater than or equal to the cutoff value were selected as the case group.40 patients with CIMT less than 1.5 mm in the case group were selected as In the mild thickening group,40 patients with CIMT greater than or equal to 1.5 mm were selected as the severe thickening group.Measuring the waistto-hip ratio and Visfatin level of the subjects, etc. The chi-square,t-test and analysis of variance were compared between groups using SPSS 17.0.Multivariate analysis was performed using multiple linear and binomial logistic regression. Results 1 The gender,waist-to-hip ratio,ALB,FPG and other indicators were not statistically significant after t test.2 The age,CRP,Hb A1 c,HCY,and Visfatin levels in the thickening group were significantly higher(P<0.05).3 The level of visfatin increased in the thickening group, and the level of visfatin increased with the increase of the intima-media thickness, and the difference was significant(P<0.05).4 Using the meaningful index as the independent variable and the intrinsic media thickness and the thickening of the medial membrane as the dependent variable, multivariate linear and binomial logistic regression were performed respectively, which proved that Visfatin is still related to the thickness of the intima in the presence of multiple factors.Increased levels of Visfatin are risk factors for intima-media thickening.5 The relationship between the visfatin mean level of24.54pg/ml and the exposure threshold was observed. The risk of mild thickening and severe thickening in exposed persons was 4.3 and 7.0 times of non-exposure.Visfatin levels are closely related to carotid intima-media thickening, and the risk of aggravation increases with increasing severity. Conclusions Serum Visfatin levels in patients with T2 DM and NAFLD are associated with carotid intima-media thickening, and elevated levels of serum Visfatin in patients with T2 DM and NAFLD carotid intima-media thickeningFigure0;Table12;Reference 120...
