Expression Of HMGN5 Protein In Epithelial Ovarian Malignancy And Its Significance

Objective: To investigate the expression level of High Mobility Group Nucleosome 5(HMGN5)protein in epithelial ovarian malignancy and its clinical significance.Methods: A total of 50 cases of paraffin specimens from the surgical resection were included.35 cases of epithelial ovarian malignancy and 15 cases of epithelial ovarian benign tumors were detected by immunohistochemistry,and the relationship between HMGN5 positive expression rate and the clinical and pathological features of epithelial ovarian malignancy was analyzed.Results: The positive expression rate of HMGN5 protein in epithelial ovarian malignant tumor tissues was 71.43%(25/35),higher than that in epithelial ovarian benign tumor tissues which was 33.33%(5/15),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The positive expression rate of HMGN5 in the epithelial ovarian malignant tumor tissues of medium and low differentiation is 94.11%(16/17),higher than that in the highly differentiated epithelial ovarian malignancies which was 50%(9/18),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The positive expression rate of HMGN5 in Ⅲ ~ Ⅳ surgical pathologic stage of epithelial ovarian malignant tumor tissues was 90%(18/20),higher than that in Ⅰ ~ Ⅱ surgical pathologic stage of epithelial ovarian malignant tumor tissues which was 46.67%(7/15),and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclusion: The positive rate of HMGN5 protein in epithelial ovarian malignant tumor is significantly higher than that in epithelial ovarian benign tumor,suggesting that HMGN5 protein is related to the occurrence of epithelial ovarian malignant tumor.The positive expression rate of HMGN5 protein in epithelial ovarian malignancy is related to tissue differentiation,surgical and pathological stages,suggesting HMGN5 protein is associated with the progression and degree of epithelial ovarian malignancy.HMGN5 is of certain value in the diagnosis and evaluation of epithelial ovarian malignancy,and may be a potential target for the treatment of epithelial ovarian malignancy.
