Objective:1.To understand the history, development and clinical application status of the Apgar score.2.To explore the clinical value of using the Apgar score, umbilical arterial blood gas analysis and fetal heart rate monitoring to assess perinatal pregnancy outcome.Methods:1.To summarize the history, development and clinical application status of the Apgar score according to the basis of diversified literatures.2.The objects of this study are derived from 80 pregnant women of ourhospital from January 2017 toFebruary 2017.They are divided into two groups:40 cases with fetal distress as the experimental group and the other 40 cases without fetal distress as control group.Compare the fetal heart rate monitoring, the 1min and 5min Apgar scores and the results of umbilical arterial blood gas analysis which obtained immediately after delivery between two groups. We also track the outcomes of these neonates.Results:1.The 1min and 5min Apgar scores between two groups had significant correlation?P<0.01?.2.The pH and PCO2 of umbilical arterial blood gas analysis between two groups had significant correlation?P<0.01?.The PO2?BEecf?HCO3-,Na+?K+?Ca2+?Hb?HCT and glucose of umbilical arterial blood gas analysis between two groups had no significant correlation?P>0.01?.3.The rate of abnormal fetal heart rate monitoring,meconium-stained amniotic fluid, forceps midwifery and neonatal complications in the experimental groupwas significantly higher than that of the control group?P<0.01?.Conclusion:1.The Apgar score is still the most convenient and practical method to evaluate the status of the newborn.2.Fetal heart rate monitoring is especially sensitive to fetal distress and umbilical arterial blood gas analysis has high specificity. The Apgar score combined with them can improve the evalution of newborn.
