| As information technology is developing fast, firms are paying more attention to use IT for supply chain management in order to lower cost and improve efficiency. This paper focuses on the main factors and their interaction in supply chain IT implementation stages.Based on the stage model of information implementation and technology-organization-environment framework, this paper offers a theoretical framework of four stages(adoption, adaption, routinization and extended use)of supply chain IT implementation and four aspects(technology, organization, environment and practice)of factors to analyze main factors and their relationships during IT implementation.Using the SPD Project in Shanghai General Hospital as a case study,11 interviews have been conducted.Based on qualitative analysis from both horizontal and longitudinal view,we find that main affecting factors are quite different for different implementation stages and there are relationships between those factors.Compatibility, complexity, relative advantages, top management support and vendor capacity are the main factors for adoption.Compatibility, complexity, relative advantages, top management support, total involvement, available resources, interorganizational cooperation, policy and result demonstrability are main factors for adaption.Total involvement,SOP and result demonstrability are main factors for routinization.Compatibility, complexity, original plan, total involvement, available resources,SOP and result demonstrability are main factors for extended use.During each stage, relationships between factors exist. |
