Objective By observing the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of patients with advanced gastric cancer treated with traditional Chinese medicine combined with tegafur maintenance, single and multi-factor analysis was used to analyze the prognostic factors of patients with PFS and OS to provide clinical evidence for maintenance treatment of gastric cancer.Method From October 2017 to December 2019,33 patients with advanced(stage ?B-stage ?)gastric cancer who had a definite pathological diagnosis and were treated with maintenance therapy with tegafur after chemotherapy. All patients can choose to accept the addition and subtraction treatment of our agreement(Jianpi Tongluo Jiedu Fang). The KPS,PFS,OS and toxic and side effects of the patients were observed. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to analyze the median survival and survival curves. The Log-rank test was used to analyze the factors affecting patients' PFS and OS.The independent factors affecting PFS and OS were summarized by the Cox proportional hazard model.Result Of the 33 clinical data included in the study,8 patients died,22 patients have survived to date, and 3 patients have been lost to follow-up.1.KPS: Of the 33 patients,12 improved KPS,10 stabilized KPS,and 11 failed KPS.The overall stabilization rate(improvement + stabilization)of patients' quality of life after maintenance treatment was 66.7%.2.PFS: The average PFS of gastric cancer patients included in the study was 79.691 ±15.417 months.Among the 33 patients,20 had PFS greater than 1 year(60.6%),12 had greater than 2 years(36.4%),and 9 had greater than 3 years(27.3%).3.OS: The average OS of gastric cancer patients included in the study was 99.911 ±13.466 months.Of the 33 patients,30(90.91%)survived more than 1 year,15(45.45%)survived more than 3 years, and 8(24.24%)survived more than 5 years.4.Prognostic factors: This study explored from multiple factors, and the results showed that whether to take Chinese medicine,Chinese medicine intervention time, and admission KPS score are all factors that affect PFS and OS.COX regression analysis showed that the intervention time of traditional Chinese medicine(P = 0.035,Exp(B)=0.911),admission KPS score(P = 0.037,Exp(B)= 0.920)were independent factors affecting PFS;and the admission KPS score(P = 0.027,Exp(B)= 0.922)is an independent factor affecting OS.5.In terms of adverse reactions: 1 case had a mild skin reaction, and 2 cases had a mild gastrointestinal reaction.Conclusion1.The combination of traditional Chinese medicine and tegafur can improve the quality of life of patients, delay the progression-free survival of the disease, and have small adverse reactions.2.The time of taking Chinese medicine is positively correlated with the prolongation of PFS,which is worthy of further participation in the maintenance treatment of gastric cancer.
