| BACKGROUND:Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common nerve entrapment syndrome.Acupotomy has an irreplaceable position in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome,but its safety and clinical effect have room for further improvement.Ultrasonic visualization technology of acupotomy is an effective way to achieve this goal.PURPOSE:To evaluate the safety and clinical efficacy of ultrasonic visualization technology of acupotomy in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome.MTHOD:42 cases confirmed with CTS by the Acupuncture Department of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupotomology Center Affiliated to Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between October 2017 and October 2019 were selected and divided into the control and observation group,21 cases in each group,with the control group being treated with traditional acupotomy while the observation group being treated with ultrasonic visualization technology of acupotomy.Both groups had one treatment a week and 4 consecutive treatments were completed.Visual analogue scale(VAS),Levine carpal tunnel syndrome,thickness of transverse carpal ligament in pisiform bone plane and record adverse event were used for efficacy observation.And compare clinical efficacy.RESULTS:(1)There was no significant difference in visual analogue VAS score,Levine carpal tunnel syndrome score and thickness of transverse carpal ligament in pisiform bone plane between the two groups before the treatment.(2)After the treatment,visual analogue score(VAS),Levine carpal tunnel syndrome score and thickness of transverse carpal ligament in pisiform bone plane in both groups were lower than those before the treatment(P<0.05).While the VAS,scores of Levine carpal tunnel syndrome and thickness of transverse carpal ligament in pisiform bone plane in the observation group were lower than those of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).(3)One adverse event occurred in the control group,while none was observed in the observation group.(4)The observation group was more significant effective than the control group,what is 75.00%higher than 40.00%.With statistically significant differences(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Acupotomy treatment of of carpal tunnel syndrome can effectively alleviate the clinical symptoms,while ultrasonic visualization technology of acupotomy has a significant effect on carpal tunnel syndrome,which is safer and worthy of clinical application and promotion. |
