Objective: To investigate the effect of intermuscular approach and traditional posterior median approach for thoracolumbar spine fractures. Methods: The clinical data of 32 patients with thoracolumbar spine fractures treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2014 to November 2019 were retrospectively analyzed, and 16 patients were treated with intermuscular approach.,As the observation group;16 cases were taken in the traditional post-median approach as the traditional group. The surgical time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperativ e hospital stay, height of injured vertebrae, and postoperative ODI function scores were compared between the two groups for statistical analysis. Results: There was no significant difference in the operation time and the height of the injured vertebrae(t= 0.87,t=0.97,P>0.05)in the two groups after surgery. The two groups had no significant differences in intraoperative blood loss, postoperative hospital stay, and ODI score.(t=2.74,t=4.71,t=4.68,P<0.05)were statistically significant. Conclusion: In the treatment of thoracolumbar spinal fractures, the use of muscle space surgery can effectively reduce intraoperative bleeding, reduce postoperative hospitalization days, rarely damage soft tissues, accelerate spinal and spinal cord function recovery, and can be used as thoracolumbar spine One of the choices for the diagnosis and treatment of spinal fractures.
