Objective: To investigate the difference of expression of B and T cell weakening factor(B and T lymphocyte attenuator,BTLA)in cancer tissue and peripheral blood of patients with locally advanced cervical squamous cell carcinoma, and to evaluate the relationship between BTLA and short-term curative effect. Methods: The clinicopathological data of 45 patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma from IIb to IVa in the third affiliated Cancer Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from January 2017 to October 2017 were collected. The expression of BTLA on T cells in peripheral blood and cancer tissues of patients with cervical squamous cell carcinoma was detected by flow cytometry and statistically analyzed. Results: The expression of BTLA on CD4 + T cells in patients with locally advanced cervical squamous cell carcinoma(60.60%)was significantly higher than that in paired cancer tissues(0.57%).The difference was statistically significant(p < 0.001).The expression of BTLA on CD8+T cells in peripheral blood(32.20%)was significantly higher than that in paired cancer tissues(1.04%).The difference was statistically significant(p < 0.001).Correlation analysis showed that there was no correlation between the expression of BTLA on T cells in peripheral blood and cancer tissues(p > 0.05).The expression of BTLA on CD8+T cells in nodular type(33.40%)was significantly higher than that in cauliflower type(25.60%),and the expression of BTLA on CD8+T cells in poorly differentiated cancer tissues(2.99%)was significantly higher than that in moderately differentiated tissues(0.72%).The expression of BTLA on CD4+ and CD8+T cells in patients with family history of malignant tumor(7.04%,6.96%)was significantly higher than that in patients without family history of malignant tumor(0.54%,0.99%),and the difference was statisticallysignificant(p < 0.05).The expression of BTLA on cancer cells in patients with family history of malignant tumor was significantly higher than that in patients without family history of malignant tumor(0.54(0.15 1.22)%,0.99(0.24 4.33)%).The expression of BTLA+CD4+T cells in patients with a history of abortion after treatment was lower than that before treatment, while in those without history of abortion after treatment, the expression of BTLA+CD4+T cells was higher than that before treatment, and there was significant difference between the two groups(p=0.019).Conclusion: The expression of BTLA on T cells in patients with locally advanced cervical squamous cell carcinoma is significantly higher than that in cancer tissues.BTLA may not be an ideal target for immunotherapy of locally advanced cervical squamous cell carcinoma.
