Objective To observe the effect of meridian therapy on vertebral artery type cervical spondylopathy,analyze and expl ore the role of meridian therapy in the treatment of verteb ral artery type cervical spondylosis,and provide reference and reference for the clinical treatment of vertebral arte ry type cervical spondylosis.Methods Fifty patients who met the criteria from the outpatient department of Lihuangpi Road in Wuhan Hospital of TCM were selected for this study.Using random number table method,50 subjects were divided into treatment group and control group,with 25 cases in each group.Excluding those who fell off and discontinued,24 cases in treatment group and 23 cases in control group were included in statistical analysis.The treatment group used the idea of meridian therapy,taking the tendon foci at the neck of Shaoyang,and tak ing the external guan and middle palate at the distal end of the affected side.The control group referred to the teac hing materials(the textbook of Acupuncture Therapy edited by Wang Qicai)to take the acupoints(C3-C5 bilateral),Baihui,Dazhui,Fengchi(bilateral),and Houxi(bilateral).After getting gas,leave the needle for 30 min.Both the treat ment group and the control group received acupuncture once a day,once a week for 1 course,and the curative effect was observed after 2 courses of treatment.Observe the changes of the functional evaluation scale and clinical symptome valuation scale before and after treatment in the two groups,and compare the difference in efficacy between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group,and there was a significant difference between the two(P<0.05).The functional scores and clinical symptom scores of the treatment group and the control group after treatment were si gnificantly different from those before the treatment(both P<0.05),and the functional scores of the treatment group were higher than those of the control group after treatment.(P<0.05).The clinical symptom score of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group after treatm ent,and there was a significant difference between the two(P<0.05).Conclusion Both meridian therapy and conventional acupuncture can improve the clinical symptoms of cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type.Meridian therapy has better clinical efficacy than conventional acupuncture,and it is worthy of popularization and use in clinical practice.
