Objective:To observe the changes of the four functional scales treated by the combination therapy of acupuncture with Modified SANBI Decoction for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy(CIPN).To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of this combination treatment and provide new ideas for clinical treatment of CIPN.Methods:A total of 33 patients met the inclusion criteria in this study.Patients were divided into a treatment group and a control group according to the patient's condition and their own wishes. There were 18 cases in the treatment group and 15 cases in the control group. All patients underwent different chemotherapy regimens, but they all showed different degrees of peripheral neuropathy. The treatment group was given acupuncture with modified Sanbi Decoction, and the control group was given oral treatment with methylcobalamin for a total of 3 cycles of 45 days. The four functional scales were recorded before and after the treatment.Research data were systematically analyzed.Results:(1)The two groups showed no statistically significant differences in comparison of general data such as age, gender, drug use,and CIPN classification(P>0.05),which was comparable;(2)QLQ-CIPN20 scale scores were compared between the treatment group and the control group in the first day of first treatment, after the first cycle and the second cycle of treatment. The P values were 0.514,0.828,and 0.703 respectively, which were all greater than 0.5,indicating no difference,so there was no statistical significance.Comparing the two groups after the third cycle,P=0.064,indicating that there was a difference between the two groups, which has statistical significance;(3)The two groups compared the TNSc scale,PNS scale and TCM scores respectively after the first day of treatment and the first cycle. The P value was greater than 0.05,indicating that the difference was not statistically significant;after the second cycle, the two groups were compared,P<0.05,indicating that there was a difference between the two groups, the difference was statistically significant. After the third cycle, the two groups were compared and P<0.01,indicating that there was a significant difference between the two groups, the difference was statistically significant. The difference between the treatment group and the control group was greater than that of the control group.(4)The scores of TCM secondary syndromes on the first day of initial treatment and after the first cycle was recorded in two groups and the P value was greater than 0.05,indicating that the difference was not statistically significant; After the second cycle and the third and the end of the cycle, the two groups were compared, and the P value was less than 0.01,indicating that there was a significant difference between the two groups. The difference between the treatment group and the control group was greater;(5)The two groups were compared on the first day of initial treatment and after the third cycle of treatment with the QLQ-CIPN20 scale,TNSc scale,PNS scale, and TCM scores.P value was Less than 0.01,indicating that the two groups had significant differences after the end of the treatment cycle, both of which were statistically significant;(6)After the end of the second cycle, the treatment group compares the scores of the main symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine with the P value of less than 0.01.It showed that the treatment group had an advantage in the second cycle earlier than the control group and the control group had a difference after the third cycle of treatment(7)There was no statistical difference in liver and kidney function, electrocardiogram and chest radiograph between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1)CIPN20 scale score,TNSc scale score,PNS scale score and TCM primary and secondary symptom scores were basically the same after treatment. The clinical effect of acupuncture combined with Jiawei Sanbi Decoction was more obvious. It showed that this program could not only improve the symptoms of patients, but also further improve the quality of life of patients;(2)The clinical efficacy of the treatment group on the scores of CIPN20 scale,TNSc scale,PNS scale and scores of primary and secondary symptoms of traditional Chinese medicine, all were better than the control group, the difference was significant, indicating that this treatment plan was better than Western medicine alone, and could significantly improve the patient's neurological symptoms;(3)Acupuncture combined with modified Sanbi Decoction improved the patient's limb numbness, pain, cold and feeling.Abnormal TCM main symptoms had largely changed before and after clinical indicators, indicating that the clinical efficacy of the main symptoms of TCM was more obvious;(4)CIPN scale score showed a difference in efficacy after the third cycle of treatment, indicating that the clinical efficacy of CIPN might be a certain relationship between cycles;(5)No obvious statistical toxic and side effects were observed in acupuncture combined with Sanbi Decoction, indicating that this might be a safe and scientific treatment plan.
