Depression is a common psychological disorder.Severe depression can even lead to suicide.Due to the enormous pressure of study and employment,college students may be at greater risk for depression.Therefore,the depression of college students deserves more attention.Depression has long been discovered to be associated with interpersonal relationships.Many scholars have explored the interpersonal experience of depression,and accordingly built theoretical models,but most studies only focus on the pathological process of depression,while few studies explore the whole process of interpersonal experience from depression to improvement.This study took a sophomore female student who once suffered from depression in a local university in Wuhan as an example,conducted an in-depth interview with her,analyzed the data with the method of interpretive phenomenology,and extracted three interpersonal relationship themes from before and after the diagnosis of depression to the improvement and the current life.The details are as follows:(1)Coexistence:resentment and favoritism coexist.It includes the resentment and preference in the family,identification with the teacher and the cycle of resentment;(2)Gratitude.It includes family support and the help of a counselor;(3)Independence.It includes reflection,detachment,integration,and responsi-bility.At the end of the article,the mechanism of depression and the factors may improving depressed symptoms are discussed from the perspective of interpersonal relationship.
