| Objective:To explore the effect of external fixation combined with small splint external fixation on fresh AO-C2 distal radius fractures.Methods:This study retrospectively analyzed 40 patients with type C2 distal radius fractures admitted to our hospital from January 2015 to December 2018.According to different surgical methods,patients were divided into two groups,A and B,with 20 cases in each group.Patients in group A received open reduction and internal fixation,and patients in group B received external fixation combined with small splint external fixation.There were 20 patients in group A,11 males and 9 females,aged between 39 and 62 years,with an average age of 48.40±4.59 years.The fracture injury time was 6-23 hours,with an average of 16.30±3.74 hours.There were 8 cases of type C2 fractures of the left distal radius and 12 cases of type C2 fractures of the right distal radius.There were 20 patients in group B,12 males and 8 females,aged between 41 and 63 years,with an average age of 48.70±4.29 years.The fracture injury time was 8-21 hours,with an average of 16.50±3.17 hours.There were 9 cases of type C2 fractures of the left distal radius and 11 cases of type C2 fractures of the right distal radius.By comparing the effects of wrist joint function recovery in two groups;surgical bleeding volume,surgical operation time,duration of pain after surgery,time of using analgesic drugs,average healing time of fracture;visual analog score,Gartland-Werley score,radial shortening before and after treatment Distance,ulnar angle,palmar inclination angle and quality of life scores and other data to understand the effect of external fixation combined with small splint external fixation on the treatment of fresh C2 distal radius fractures.Results:There was no significant difference in the excellent and good rate of wrist joints between the external fixation combined with small splint external fixation group and the open reduction internal fixation group at 3 months and 6 months after operation(P>0.05).The amount of surgical bleeding,operation time,duration of pain after surgery,time of using analgesic drugs,and average healing time of fractures in the group of external fixation combined with small splint external fixation were better than those in open reduction and internal fixation(P<0.05).The comparison between the two groups before and after treatment showed no significant difference in radius shortening distance,ulnar Angle,palm Angle,gartland-werley score,visual simulation score and quality of life score(P>0.05).After treatment,visual simulation score,gartland-werley score,radius shortening distance,ulnar Angle,palm Angle and quality of life score in the two groups were significantly better than before treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion:External fixation combined with small splint external fixation has the advantages of less trauma,short operation time,and less intraoperative blood loss.It can better restore palm inclination angle,ulnar deviation angle and radius height,effectively reduce postoperative pain,and can obtain good The function of the wrist joint improves the patient’s quality of life.We believe that external fixation combined with small splint external fixation can be used as an effective way to treat fresh AO-C2 distal radius fractures. |
