The Effectiveness Of Arbidol Hydrochloride On The Patiens Of Influenza And Influenza-like Manifestations:A Real-word Study

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of Arbidol Hydrochloride and Oseltamivir Phosphate on the patiens of influenza and influenza-like manifestations,and to compare the clinical effectiveness of the two drugs on elderly patients and patients with chronic basic diseases.Methods: This study is a real-world study.The data are from the Hospital Information System(HIS)of Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University from November 2017 to September 2019.Patients who were referred to the respiratory department and took Arbidol Hydrochloride or Oseltamivir Phosphate because of influenza and influenza-like manifestations were included.Collect general information and physical and chemical indicators of patients,then balance the general differences between the two groups with Propensity scoring matching(PSM),and compare the effectiveness of two drugs in the all patiens,the elderly and patiens with chronic basic diseases.Results: Finally,236 patients were included in the study.In the comparison of all patiens,120 patiens were treated with Arbidol Hydrochloride and 116 patiens were treated with Oseltamivir Phosphate.After PSM,the results of fever time,white blood cell count,neutrophil ratio,lymphocyte ratio,neutrophi count,lymphocytecount,albumin,alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),creatinine,oxygenation index,duration and cost of hospitalization showed no significant difference(P> 0.05).While,C-reactive protein(CRP)was significantly different between the two groups(P <0.05).For the comparison of the elderly group,which included 97 patients,46 in the Arbidol Hydrochloride group and 51 in the Oseltamivir Phosphate group,showed no significant difference in all indicators between the two groups after PSM(P> 0.05).Then,we investigated patients with chronic basic diseases,which included 97 patients,64 in the Arbidol Hydrochloride group and 69 in the Oseltamivir Phosphate group.After PSM,there was a significant difference in CRP between the two groups(P <0.05).Conclusions:(1)For all patiens,Arbidol Hydrochloride and Oseltamivir Phosphate are equivalent in treating the patiens of influenza and influenza-like manifestations,but Oseltamivir Phosphate may be slightly better in the anti-inflammation.(2)For elderly patients,Arbidol Hydrochloride is equivalent to oseltamivir phosphate.(3)For patiens with chronic basic disease,Arbidol Hydrochloride is also equivalent to Oseltamivir Phosphate,but Oseltamivir Phosphate may be slightly better in the antiinflammation.
