Anatomical Study Of Reconstruction Of Lateral Collateral Ligament Of Ankle Joint By The Peroneus Tertius

Objective:This study describes the morphology of the peroneus tertius and lateral collateral ligament,including anterior the talofibular ligament and the calcaneo fibular ligament,and provides anatomic basis for the peroneus tertius in the reconstruction of anterior the talofibular ligament.Methods:38 ankle specimens(20 male,18 female,17 left,21 right)from the adult yellow race(Chinese population)in the department of anatomy,Qingdao university were used.In front of the anatomy of the soaking with 10% formalin,out of the anatomy of the area and ankle specimens with surgical intervention in evidence.Measurements were made on 38 isolated ankle specimens,all of which were dissected in accordance with preestablished protocols.(1)the length of the third peroneal muscle from the tendon junction to the stop was recorded;(2)the length of the third fibula muscle from the distal end of the subextensor supportband to the stop;(3)width of tendon junction of the third fibula muscle;(4)the width of the stop of the third fibula muscle;(6)thickness of the third fibula muscle,the anterior fibula ligament and the calcaneus ligament.In addition,according to the number of tendons and the shape of starting and ending points,the characteristics of the anterior peroneal ligament,the Calvary ligament and the third peroneal muscle tendons were classified,and the relationship between the types of ligaments was compared.Results:The length of PT stop to tendon joint was 67.74±7.02 mm,and the width of PT stop was 33.06±10.69 mm.PT thickness was 1.11±0.19 mm.According to the morphology of PT,it was divided into four types,with the occurrence rate of 15.79%,36.84%,42.11% and 5.26%,respectively.The ATFL length was 18.53±2.19 mm,the ATFL starting width was 9.36±3.29 mm,and the ATFL stop width was 9.14±3.02 mm.According to the morphology,it was divided into four types,with occurrence rates of 28.95%,18.42%,47.37% and 5.26%,respectively.The length of CFL is 29.29±3.67 mm,the starting width of CFL is 4.33±0.93 mm,and the stop width is 6.75±1.20 mm.The thickness is 1.99±0.44 mm.According to the starting form of CFL,it is divided into four types,and the occurrence rate is 57.89%,23.68%,13.16% and 5.26% respectively.Conclusion:The peroneus tertius type ? has the advantage of length and smaller stop width than the other three types and is more likely to be used as an autologous tendon.The length and width of the peroneus tertius and the anterior talofibular ligament were not significantly different from the body side and sex,but significantly different from the ligament type.These data are helpful to provide anatomic basis for the reconstruction of the anterior talofibular ligament using the peroneus tertius.
