| Objective: The purpose of this study is to observe the clinical efficacy of Shengjiang Huotan Decoction in the treatment of children with adenoidal hypertrophy with phlegm-qi obstruction syndrome,to analyze the prescription characteristics of Shengjiang Huotan Decoction, and to enrich the theory of the treatment of the disease with traditional Chinese medicine. Methods: Seventy-five children with adenoid hypertrophy of phlegm-qi obstruction syndrome were collected from pediatric and otolaryngology outpatient clinics. After removal and shedding,68 cases were finally included in the statistics. They were randomly divided into the treatment group(35 cases)and the control group(33 cases). The treatment group was treated with Shengjiang Huotan Decoction, while the control group was treated with Mometasone Furoate Nasal Spray. Before treatment,4 weeks after treatment and 1 month after drug withdrawal, the TCM symptoms,A/N value and quality of life of the two groups of children were scored respectively, and the data were collected for statistical analysis.Results:1.Before treatment: there was no statistical difference in gender, age and course composition between the two groups, and there was no statistical difference in TCM syndrome score,A/N value score and OSA-18 score before treatment, which was comparable.2.Intra-group comparison: after 4 weeks of treatment,TCM symptom score,A/N value and OSA-18 score of the treatment group and the control group were all lower than those before treatment(P<0.001),and the difference was statistically significant.3.Comparison between groups:(1)Cohen’s D value of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group in terms of the main symptom score and the secondary symptom score;Cohen’s D value of the control group was higher than that of the treatment group in terms of A/N value;although the Cohen’s d value of thetreatment group was slightly lower than that of the control group, the scores of the two groups after treatment were subjected to independent sample t test. The treatment group was significantly lower than the control group and the difference was large. The treatment group was slightly better than the control group in improving the quality of life of the children.(2)Total effective rate: the total effective rate of the two groups were 88.57% and 75.76%,respectively,with no statistical difference(P > 0.05).(3)Recurrence rate: the recurrence rate in the treatment group was 7.14% lower than that in the control group(36%),and P < 0.05 had statistical significance. Conclusion: The treatment group is better than the control group in improving the TCM symptom score and quality of life of children with with phlegm-qi obstruction syndrome. There is no statistical difference in the total effective rate between the two groups, but the recurrence rate of the treatment group is much lower than that after the 3-month follow-up.The control group has obvious statistical differences, suggesting that Shengjianghutan Decoction can not only improve the symptoms and signs of children, but also reduce the recurrence rate, which has the advantage of stable clinical efficacy. |
