Objective:To observe the clinical characteristics and the distribution of TCM syndrome factors in the acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with eosinophilia.Method:A retrospective analysis of 123 patients with AECOPD.we took eosinophils c≥ 2% as the EOS group and < 2% as the non EOS group. To understand the clinical characteristics of AECOPD with eosinophilia,we compared between the two groups, like the general conditions(age, gender, smoking history, body mass index(BMI)),GOLD criterion, comorbidities(diabetes, hypertension, coronary heart disease, pulmonary infection),pulmonary function(FEV1% pred and FEV1/FVC),arterial blood gas analysis(Pa O2 and Pa CO2)and hospitalization outcome(the number of patients using noninvasive ventilator, the number of deaths, the length of stay and the number of people staying in ICU).Then, the AECOPD with eosinophilia were informed of the four diagnostic methods of TCM,and the characteristics of tongue, pulse and TCM syndromes were analyzed.Result:(1)A total of 123 patients with AECOPD were collected, including 36 in the EOS group and 87 in the non EOS group.(2)There was no difference between the two groups in general condition, combined disease,GOLD criterion, pulmonary function and arterial blood gas.(3)The WBC,NEUT% and CRP in the EOS group were lower than those in the non EOS group(P < 0.05);(4)There was no difference between the two groups in terms of the number of patients using noninvasive ventilator, the number of deaths and the number of people staying in ICU.The length of stay in the EOS group was shorter than that in the non EOS group(P < 0.05).In the EOS group, the main symptoms were pale tongue(44.4%),white greasy fur(41.7%)and yellow greasy fur(36.1%),single pulse(41.7%),several pulse(27.8%)and chord pulse(25.0%).The main factors of TCM syndrome were phlegm syndrome(86.1%),Qi deficiency syndrome(69.4%),dampness syndrome(52.8%),excess heat syndrome(41.7%)and yang deficiency syndrome(36.1%).The syndrome of traditional Chinese medicine is mainly composed of deficiency and excess, and the syndrome frequency of traditional Chinese medicine is more than 10%,which includes phlegm syndrome + excess heat syndrome + dampness syndrome + Qi deficiency syndrome(16.7%)and phlegm syndrome + dampness syndrome + Qi deficiency syndrome + Yang deficiency syndrome(13.9%).Conclusion:The inflammatory indexes(WBC,NEUT%,CRP)of AECOPD patients with increased blood eosinophil were lower, and the hospital stay was shorter; The main manifestations were weak tongue, yellow greasy fur or white greasy fur,and slippery pulse.TCM syndrome elements were phlegm syndrome,Qi deficiency syndrome, dampness resistance syndrome, excess heat syndrome and yang deficiency syndrome.
