Objective: The purpose of this study was to measure and compare the changes of patellar morphology and cartilage thickness of the knee joint before and after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.Method: This study selected 23 patients with unilateral anterior cruciate ligament injury who visited our hospital from 2018 to 2019 as the research object.All subjects underwent anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction,followed by routine rehabilitation training,followed up for at least 6 months.Patellar morphology and cartilage thickness were measured before and after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.Observation indicators include anterior drawer test,Lachman test,pivot shift test and patellar tilt angle,bisect offset,Insall-Salvati ratio and patella cartilage thickness on MRI.Results: The anterior drawer test,Lachman test,and pivot shift test were all negative after ACL reconstruction in all subjects.There were significant differences in Insall-Salvati ratio and patella cartilage thickness before and after ACL reconstruction(P<0.05).No statistically significant differences were found in patellar tilt angle and bisect offset.Conclusions: The clinical function of the reconstructed ACL was restored in all subjects.The increase in Insall-Salvati ratio may be related to the fact that the patellar tendon wavy sign disappeared after ACL reconstruction.The reduction of patellar cartilage thickness after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction may be related to the occurrence and development of patellar cartilage injury and patellofemoral osteoarthritis after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
