Objective:To investigate the relationship between neutrophil lymphocyte ratio(NLR),monocyte high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio(MHR)and the risk of primary hypertension(PH).Methods:A total of 106 patients were enrolled in The First Hospital of Hebei Medical University by retrospective study. The patients were divided into non-hypertensive group and hypertensive group according to their admission blood pressure.Clinical data of the two groups were compared, and the correlation between NLR,MHR and hypertension was assessed by Spearsman correlation coefficient and logistic regression analysis, and the ROC curve was plotted.Results:1. The proportion of BMI,coronary heart disease,hyperlipidemia,WBC,NEUT,RBC,HB,PLT,NLR,MHR,Scr,UA,TG,LDL-C,ALT and Lg hs-CRP were significantly higher in the hypertension group than in the non-hypertension group(P<0.05).2. Correlation and regression analysis:NLR and MHR were significantly positively correlated with hypertension(r_s=0.330,P=0.001;r_s=0.217,P=0.028,respectively).After controlling for confounding factors,NLR[P=0.009,OR value 2.048,95%CI(1.200-3.488)]was determined to be an independent risk factor for hypertension. In addition, uric acid[P<0.001,OR=1.014,95%CI(1.007-1.021)]was an independent risk factor for hypertension.3. NLR,UA and combining predictor have diagnostic value for hypertension, and the areas under the ROC curve are 0.697[95%CI(0.597-0.797)],0.783[95%CI(0.698-0.882)]and 0.793[95%CI(0.700-0.887)],respectively.Conclusions:NLR and MHR were significantly higher in hypertensive patients than in non-hypertensive patients.NLR and MHR were associated with positive hypertension.Elevated NLR is an independent risk factor for hypertension and is inexpensive and readily available to assess the risk of hypertension.
