Since the Republic of China,the cause of western medical communication has developed greatly.Chinese knowledge elites who have received western medical education gradually replaced missionaries and became the main force of medical communication.The religious color of medical newspapers and periodicals has obviously weakened,and cultural and educational functions have become more distinct.On August 15,1939,the Chinese Journal of Health,which was sponsored by the Chinese Medical Association,was formally published.Huang Zifang,chairman of the Public Health Commission,served as editor-in-chief of the magazine.As a typical representative of modern popular medical journals,the Chinese Journal of Health is not only a historical witness of the medical social conditions in this period,but also a long-term practitioner in the course of the spread of western medicine.So it has important research value.By now,the academic circles have not carried out a detailed study of the Chinese Journal of Health.So this article takes the Chinese Journal of Health as the research object.It comprehensively grasped the publication status of the magazine by sorting out the founder of the whole story and personnel changes.At the same time,it explore the communication ways and characteristics of this western medical science magazine by analyzes the content of the magazine.This article focuses on the group expression in the magazine,analyzes the construction orientation of physicians as knowledge intermediaries in the process of communication,investigate the situation of the medical views and disease perception of the public as knowledge receivers,and considers the social significance of the Chinese Journal of Health and shows the changes and adjustments made by the physician community in the context of war and economic difficulties.This article's research on the Chinese Journal of Health shows that: The column design and knowledge presentation of the magazine was actually the result of the coordination and complementation of a series of factors including professional and popular,education and fun,popularity and benefits,The specialization and popularization of medical knowledge runs through the development of the magazine.In the situation of war,preventive medicine has been particularly advocated,and the physician group has adjusted according to social conditions,who proposed healthy and economical living methods,and provided effective and effective health guidance for the people.In addition,as the main authors of magazine articles,physicians also try to "rectify their names" with the help of a publicity platform such as magazines based on medical knowledge dissemination.On the one hand,they focused on emphasizing the "scientific" characteristics of Western medicine,prove the legitimacy of their discipline.on the other hand,from their own perspective,they discriminate doctor-patient disputes,safeguard the legal rights of medical staff,and work hard to shape modern patients.In addition,the magazine did not hide the voice of the common people.A series of reader columns were set up to provides a feedback channel and a voice platform for the common people.In brief,both doctors and patients complement each other,and finally show and enrich the era connotation of the medical socialization process of the Republic of China.
