The Clinical Correlation Between Carbonic Anhydrase-? And Hypopharyngeal Carcinoma

Objective:Detect the expression of carbonic anhydrase-?(CA?)in hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma,and explore its relationship with clinical and pathological parameters of hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma and its clinical significance.Methods:28 cases of hypopharyngeal carcinoma tissue were taken from the patients undergone surgery of laryngopharynx because of hypopharyngeal cancer in the second hospital of Jilin University from Sep 2015 to Sep 2018.All had complete clinical data,including age and gender of patient,clinical stage,various histopathological grading and so on.There were no corresponding pericarcinoma tissues in 2 cases.All were confirmed as squamous cell carcinoma by pathological examination.Methods SP immunohistochemical detected the expression of CA? protions in hypopharyngeal cancer and adjacent tissues,and respectively analyzed the relationship between carbonic anhydrase ? expression level and clinical pathological data.Using statistical software SPSS22.0 for statistical analysis.All of this experiment is counting date,We can adopt the chi-square test or the continuity-adjusted chi-square test,Fisher's exact test was used for small sample data.P<0.05 difference was considered statistically significant.Results:the positive expression rate of Carbonic anhydrase ? in squamous cell carcinoma of hypopharynx was 71.4%(20/28),but in the adjacent tissue,the expression rate of CA? was lower(19.2%),The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).In mid-advanced hypopharyngeal carcinoma(?,?)and early hypopharyngeal carcinoma(?,?),the positive expression rates of carbonic anhydrase ? were 82.6% and 20.0% respectively.The difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).The positive expression rate of carbonic anhydrase ? protein is related to clinical stages of the tumor,and it is not correlated with the pathological grade,lymph node metastasis,age and gender of patient.The survival analysis curve shows that the CA? positive expression curve is located below the negative curve,indicating that CA? positive expression has a worse overall survival trend,but the difference is not statistically significant.Conclusion:1.By immunohistochemical analysis,the expression of CA? in hypopharyngeal carcinoma is significantly higher than in adjacent tissues.2.In hypopharyngeal carcer,there was significant correlation between the positive expression rate of CA? and clinical stage,but it is not correlated with the pathological grade,lymph node metastasis,age and gender of patient.Survival analysis shows that the difference of prognosis is not statistically significant,but the survival curve of CA? positive expression has a worse prognosis trend.
