Pancreatic cancer is characterized by occult onset, rapid progression and poor prognosis. At present, there still lack the effective method for early detection. In this study,we explored the distribution of CEA,CA125,CA19-9,CA724,CA242 and AFP in saliva, bile, pancreatic juice, urine and gastric juice, assessed their diagnostic and predictive value in pancreatic carcinoma(PC).Among them the research of salivary biomarkers recruited 26 patients with PC,9 patients with benign pancreatic tumors(BPT)and 16 healthy controls(HC).And the rest researches of biomarkers in other body fluid recruited 39 patients with PC and 50 patients with BPT totally. The results suggested the best cut-off points of CEA and CA125 in saliva in the diagnosis of PC were 202.92 ng/ml and 444.90 U/m respectively with the sensitivity and specificity of 92.31%,84.62% and 92.31%,84.62% respectively. In addition, elevated salivary CEA and CA125 were also significantly correlated with local progression and shorter survival of PC(P < 0.05).In other body fluids, the distribution of CEA,CA125 in bile and CA19-9 in pancreatic juice were significantly higher in PC compared with BPT(P < 0.05)with best cut-off points of 166.59 ng/mL,5.90 U/mL and 798.89 U/mL separately.Under these cut-off levels, the sensitivity and specificity reached 60.00%,100.00%,83.33% and 100.00%,66.67%,respectively.Other biomarkers of body fluids have little value in the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. The results demonstrated that CEA and CA125 in saliva and bile,CA19-9 in pancreatic juice could be used in the diagnosis of PC,which may enable a potential application in the systemic clinical evaluation.
