Objective By investigating the current status of compliance of oral nutrition supplements taken by patients with colorectal cancer after Enhanced Recovery After Surgery, analyze the influencing factors of compliance with oral nutrition supplements taken by patients of colorectal cancer after surgery.Applying teach-backto the intake of oral nutritional supplements in patients undergoing Enhanced Recovery After Surgery after colorectal cancer,to explore the effect of teach-backon the compliance of oral nutritional supplement intake and postoperative recovery in patients with colorectal cancer surgery, for further Provide a basis for improving the compliance of patients with oral nutritional supplements taken early in the postoperative period, postoperative health education effects, and improving nutritional status. Methods The research is mainly divided into two parts. The first part conducted a questionnaire survey on 183 patients after colorectal tumor surgery in a general surgery department in Nanjing from May 2018 to December 2018,and analyzed the influencing factors of early ONS intake compliance in patients with colorectal cancer. The second part is to select patients who have undergone colorectal tumor surgery in general surgery department in Nanjing from January 2019 to June 2019 as the research object, and are divided into experimental group and control group according to the time of admission. The control group adopted postoperative routine health education, and the experimental group conducted feedback health education based on the control group.Comparison of ONS intake compliance at 3 days after operation, body composition changes at 1 day before operation,1 day after operation and 4 days after operation, and short-term recovery indexes after operation were compared between the two groups.Data processing adopts SPSS19.0 statistical software. Results 1.Current status of survey results Patients with colorectal tumors had a low ONS intake compliance in the postoperative period, and only 24% had higher compliance.Age,education level, time of first meal after surgery, time of first ventilation after surgery, and gastrointestinal tolerance are factors that affect the compliance of ONS intake in patients with colorectal tumors.Education level, time of first meal after operation and gastrointestinal tolerance are independent risk factors that affect the compliance of ONS intake in patients with colorectal tumors.2.Intervention results There was no statistical difference between the two groups in terms of gender, age,BMI,surgical site(P> 0.05).The patients with higher compliance in the test group accounted for 50%,while the control group accounted for only 23.5%.The compliance of ONS intake in the test group was significantly better than that in the control group. There was no statistical difference between the body composition of patients before and after the first day of operation(P> 0.05).Compared with preoperation, the total body water, muscle mass, and protein loss of the test group were lower than those of the control group on the 4th postoperative day,but the difference was not statistically significant(P> 0.05).The loss of body fat and body weight in the test group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).The time of first meal, postoperative first ventilation and postoperative hospital stay in the experimental group were less than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups of patients(P> 0.05).Conclusions 1.Patients with colorectal tumors have low compliance with ONS intake after surgery.Medical staff need to further explore more effective health education models to promote patients’ understanding of health education content, improve health literacy, and promote healthy behaviors.2.Compared with traditional health education, the implementation of teach-back education,a health education method, not only speeds up the postoperative recovery process of patients, but also significantly improves the compliance of early postoperative ONS intake, increases its intake of postoperative nutrients and reduces the loss of body composition, improve the nutritional status of patients with colorectal tumors after surgery.
