Objiective To provide a literature basis for clinical application of Qigong intervention in the future,this paper summarizes the application of Qigong in diseases prevention,treatments and rehabilitations,and probes into the indications of modern Qigong by analysing modern Qi-gong literatures systematically and Qi-gong clinical interventions and comprehensively.Method Search the Qi-gong-related literatures through Sino Med,CNKI,VIP and Wanfang electronic databases which are published in between 1949 to 2018 and sift through the literature 3 times according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.Extract the general information,research objects,intervention methods,outcome indicators,extracted information by statistical analysis and evaluation and discuss about statistical results from the selected literatures.Result 2233 finalized literatures were selected for statistical analysis which included 1707 cases about Qigong clinical interventions and 526 cases about intervention for healthy population.1.General Situation: Especially in the last ten years,research on Qigong clinical interventions and healthy population had been carried out year by year in past 60 years and there was a upward trend.There was a total of 31 provinces and municipalities have conducted clinical research on Qi-gong clinical interventions.Since 1994,there were fund-supported clinical studies of Qi-gong,and the upward trend was in line with the published years.2.Intervention methods: 32.86% of patients were treated with Qi-gong alone,9.76% of healthy population intervened by Qi-gong purely.The intervention cycles were mentioned mostly were 3 and 6 months.The tutorial of pre-intervention,quality control and followup were mentioned that 11.89%,8.20% and 6.87% respectively for Qigong clinical interventions and 22.24%,10.84% and 2.09%,respectively for intervention in healthy populations.3.Clinical Intervention of Qi-gong:(1)The types of research involved are randomized controlled trials,non-randomized controlled trials,cohort studies,case-control studies,and case series reports.The average sample size was 97,and 81.7% of the studies obtained positive results.(2)21 chapters on the ICD-11 disease classification,the most common being musculoskeletal system and connective tissue diseases,with a total of 486.Then they were followed by diseases of the circulatory system,endocrine,nutritional or metabolic diseases,diseases of the respiratory system,mental,behavioural or neurodevelopmental disorders,which were 238,196,167 and 99 respectively with an annually upward trend of distribution.(3)Among the involving 247 kinds of diseases,the most frequent is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,a total of 143,followed by cervical spondylosis,diabetes,hypertension,lumbar disc herniation,insomnia,osteoporosis which were 131,130,113,92,57,46 respectively.(4)There are 142 kinds of Qigong involved,the most frequent being the Baduanjin,with 620 references,secondly was Yijinjing,Wuqingxi,Liuzijue,Daoyin,Fangsonggong which were mentioned 140,131,124 and 123 times respectively.Conclusion Qigong is a nature-friendly,environmental protective,safe and harmless self-healing method with combining body,mind and breathing pace regulation and be used wisely in medical field such as preventions of diseases,clinical treatments and rehabilitations.According to the review of literatures,the diseases that mentioned above are potentially to be listed in the indications of Qigong and this issue is worth to be further studied.In order to provide an appropriate evidence of indications of Qi-gong,a further confirmation of relationship between the Qigong and disorders is needed.
