Since the 1970s,the research focus in foreign language teaching has transferred from how to teach to how to learn gradually.Great importance has been attached to Learners' individual factors such as learning strategies, learning motivation, and learners' intelligence. To know about learners' learning process, studies on learners and the variables in their learning process are of significance. For learners, learning motivation and learning strategies are suggested to have important influence on learning achievement, researches on these two factors have long been caused scholars'interest. In this field, most researches focused on the relationship between two factors. So in this thesis, the author tries to explore the relationship among the three factors:learning motivation, learning strategies and language learning achievementIn the research, the subjects are sophomores of non-English majors who come from an independent college——Zhixing College of Hubei University. The number of the subjects is 140,of which Accounting,Financial Management,Human Resources, and Electric&Information Engineering, these four majors are covered. The researcher gathers their learning information including their overall state of learning motivation and learning strategies use as well as their CET-4 scores with questionnaires. The researcher hopes to find the relationship among the factors and provide some suggestions for college English teaching. In this research, learning motivation questionnaire made by Gao Yihong and moderated version of questionnaire based on Oxford's Strategy Inventory for Language Learning are applied. The author analyzes all the data and information via SPSS20.The results of the research indicate that(1)Frequency of learning motivation tendency and the use of learning strategies of non-English majors in independent college is at medium level.Instrumental motivation compensation strategies are students' favorite.(2)Instrumental motivation is most frequently used by both efficient learners and less efficient learners. For both groups, integrative motivation and affective strategies constitute the greatest difference in learning motivation tendency and learning strategies use.(3)Learning motivation and learning strategies are closely correlated with each other, and both of them have strong relationship with learning achievement.(4)Integrative motivation,meta-cognitive strategies, affective strategies and compensation strategies are four predicting factors that influence learning achievement.According to the results and analyses of the research, foreign language teacher should pay more attention to students' learning characteristics, give more encouragement to students. At the same time, teachers should fully armed with up-to-date knowledge, raise students' interests by making teaching content and teaching styles more flexible to students' needs. What's more, teachers should teach students more about appropriate learning strategies towards English learning, improving students' capability of learning autonomy.
