The Discussion On The Influence Of Wang Bi's Yi-ology On Wenxin-diaolong(The Literary Mind And The Carving Of Dragon)

Wenxin-diaolong(The Literary Mind and the Carving of Dragon),as a unparalleled masterpiece of Chinese literary criticism,is famous for its critical thinking and rigid logical system.Owning to the diversity of authors thought,Wenxin-diaolong presents a complicated reception of previous literary theories.Most scholars have conducted some research on Wenxin-diaolong from the perspective of Confucianism and Buddhism.However,there is little exploration on the correlation between Wenxin-diaolong and Metaphysics especially Wang Bi's Yi-ology.As a matter of fact,the thought of Yi-ology,as the significant part of Wang Bi's Metaphysics,has great impact on Wenxin-diaolong.This interpretation not only has rationality under the historical context,but also reflects its dominant authenticity.Wang Bi's Yi-ology was greatly influenced by the classics and commentaries on I-Ching.As a result,compared with Wang Bi's theory of Lao tse,it tends to be more instructive theologically in real life.Additionally,most of its views have profound influence on the formation and interpretation of Wenxin-diaolong's literary theory and construction of the theoretical system.In the overview of Wenxin-diaolong,Liu Xie was inspired by Wang Bi's Yi-ology's ontology,and then established "Literature of Tao".Correspondingly,the literary criticism system "Tao(?)-Sheng(?)-Jing(?)"has been constructed.In the creation theory part of Wenxin-diaolong,which evidences of influences are listed as follows.In the first place,the conception of motion and stillness provides the methodology of dealing with the relationship between the stages of preparation and literary creation,which enable the theory of Xujing(??)and Yangqi(??)in Wenxin-diaolong to be more rational.Moreover,Wang Bi's Yi-ology not only focuses on perception(?),but also puts emphasis on some functional ideas such as word(?)and image(?),thus offering Wenxin-diaolong theoretic support for its improvement of rhetorical techniques.Thirdly,Wang Bi's Yi-ology values the epistemology that subjects play a leading role in articles which directly presents instruction to Liu Xie to balance the relationship between content and formand the theme and structure.Lastly,as for evolution of literature and renovation of creation,Wenxin-diaolong has been deeply influenced by Wang Bi's Yi-ology.Besides,Wang Bi's Yi-ology's theory of "Ti and Yong" is closely related to Liu Xie's critical theory.Through the comparison of Wenxin-diaolong and Wang Bi's Yi-ology,this thesis aims to clarify the source of thought and methodology in the process of formation of Wenxin-diaolong's theory,thereby making some efforts to the study in the logicality and systematization of Wenxin-diaolong from the perspective of Wang Bi's Yi-ology.
