On The Expression Of Tree And Its Variation Cause In Landscape Painting From Barbizon School To Post Impressionism

This paper mainly studies from the expression of tree in landscape painting from Barbizon School to Post Impressionism and analyzes the change of the expression during this period.Thus,it discusses the variation reasons for the expression of tree.This article mainly carries on the discussion from three aspects: the first is the metaphor of tree in western culture,that is,describing the ideas,significance and other meanings which reflected by tree before the period.The second is to analyze the expression and changes of the tree from four aspects which include the location of the tree in the painting,the shape of the tree,the strokes and texture of the tree,and the color of the tree.The third is the analysis of the expression of the tree and its variation cause.It researches on two aspects including the change of artist’s concept and expression of painting,and the change of social environment.
