Coetzee is the most famous writer and scholar in South Africa.Growing up in South Africa's was a special experience to Coetzee which has a profound impact on Coetzee creation.South Africa for hundreds of years of colonial rule left a lot of hidden dangers to the new South Africa.Although colonialism and apartheid have became history on the surface, but it left traumatic memory, which still affect the lives of new South Africans. With the vigorous development of post-colonialism and cultural trauma theory,The memory of the racial trauma concealed by history also emerge.Coetzee use his superb literary talent to thoughtfully show that colonialism poses a serious trauma to the colonists and colonies, and this traumatic memory does not immediately disappear with the passage of time, its surplus prestige has been lingering in every corner of contemporary South African society."Disgrace" tells the story of the remaining problems caused by the colonialism poses a serious trauma to South African after apartheid era. This novel is set in South Africa after the apartheid era, described psychic trauma and living dilemmaof South African which has to face the change of power and social status a,the current social situation of South Africa after the apartheid era. This article has four parts. The first part was the introduction of the topic of this thesis, research significance, innovation and research methods. And made a detailed combing of the study of Disgrace at home and abroad since 1999.The second part introduces the postcolonial theory and cultural trauma theory and the fit of the two theory,Which leads to the theory of post-colonial racial trauma.Based on this, focus on Fanon related ideas who can be regarded as a pioneer in postcolonial theory to some extent. This paper argues that the basic view of Fanon in the "black skin white mask" provides the best example of the combination of postcolonialism and trauma theory. The third part focuses on the specific manifestation of postcolonial trauma in "Disgrace "on the basis of the relevant background.Whether its basic plot, the character image,or the emotional color of the fiction or some images,"Disgrace" are strongly reflected the implication of trauma, all these are the lingering shadow of South Africa in the context of postcolonialism. The fourth part introduces thepractical significance of the post-colonial racial trauma from three aspects:post-colonial racial trauma, the influence of post-colonial racial trauma and the significance of " Disgrace".This paper argues that "disgrace",as described by "Disgrace ",is the "disgrace" of postcolonialism, which is the result of the colonialism in history.Although the traditional colonial rule has ended, its negative effects are evident. In this paper, the last question is how to eliminate the post-colonial trauma which is highly challenging problem, this paper argues that use the thought of Fanon and Coetzee and others,it is still possible to expect a history with no trauma.
