Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, headed by general secretary Xi Jinping, brings the work of combating corruption and building a clean government into a new stage.Central Commission for Discipline Inspection Supervision Website is the most authoritative and representative official media website established by the Chinese government for anti-corruption work, which is the centralized embodiment of the anti-corruption attitudes and positions of the Party and the government, and the anti-corruption news discourses in this website contain a lot of conceptual metaphor. In 1980,Lakoff and Johnson put forward the concept of conceptual metaphor for the first time in the book Metaphors We Live By,marking the shift from a rhetorical function to a cognitive function in the study of metaphor.Previous researches on conceptual metaphor mainly focused on Western political discourse and revealed the cultural characteristics and ideology of Western countries, but there were few studies on Chinese political discourses and they lack systematic and targeted properties. In view of this, based on conceptual metaphor theory(CMT for short),this research uses Charteris-Black's critical metaphor analysis model to analyze the 100 anti-corruption news discourses selected from Central Commission for Discipline Inspection Supervision Website by qualitative analysis method. The purpose of this research is to find out the main types of conceptual metaphor in anti-corruption news discourses,to study their mapping processes and realization forms and to explore the motivations and functions behind the metaphorical expression. The research found that there are mainly 10 types of conceptual metaphor in China's anti-corruption news discourses,5 types of which are the most important and frequently used, namely war metaphor, tool metaphor, animal metaphor, disease metaphor and engineering metaphor.Secondly, through a detailed analysis of the meaning construction and mapping process of each kind of conceptual metaphor,it is also found that the selection and use of these metaphors are influenced by historical, cultural and cognitive factors and the use of these conceptual metaphor has the functions of simplification, bridging and persuasion. One the one hand, this study proves that conceptual metaphor can also be applied to Chinese political discourses and expands the scope of the application of CMT;on the other hand,it provides new insights for readers to better understand China's anti-corruption policies and attitudes from the perspective of linguistics.
