On The Value Of Xunzi's "Courtesy" And Its Research For Reference

Since the new century,with the rapid development of economic and social,the relationship between people has undergone a subtle change.People's value tended to diversify,the level of morality declined,and the values lost.There has been a life of materialism and nihilism on values.The main reason is that there are many tensions and perplexities in dealing with the relationship between human and nature,relationship between individual and group,relationship between righteousness and interests,relationship between reason and desire,relationship between norm and rights.However,Xun Zi's thought of"ceremony" can provide a good reference for people to deal with these relations today.The thought of Xun Zi is an important part of Chinese excellent traditional culture."Courtesy" is from the natural and the group.It follows the righteousness and it is in accordance with the development law of all things.Furthermore,Xun Zi's "Courtesy" is throughout the whole process of individual ideal personality.In theory,Xun Zi's "Courtesy" is from the natural.Under the guidance of relationship between human and nature,Xun Zi "introduces separation into ceremony".In practice,Xun Zi's "Courtesy" is from the group.It has the important practical significance in dealing with the relationship between individual and group,relationship between righteousness and interests,relationship between norm and rights,and the improvement of ideal personality.Xun Zi's "courtesy" is consistent with the current socialist core values as an important part of Confucianism traditional culture.It has an important contemporary value to the current society.It plays an important role in the transition of cohesion between traditional culture and modern to fully explore the contemporary value of Xun Zi's "courtesy",setting up the ecological concept,enhancing the collective consciousness,promoting the justice,and guiding the pursuit of spirit.Therefore,exploring the contemporary value of Xun Zi's "courtesy" and researching it for reference emerges as the times require.The main promotion for reference is from the following four aspects:first and foremost,the relation between human and nature-forming the view that human and nature have the same moral;secondly,the relationship between individual and group-cultivating the view of group identity and self-transcending;thirdly,the relationship between justice and benefit-developing the view that righteousness and benefit are of equal importance;Last but not least,personality-shaping the value of making contributions to our society.This thesis studies the thought of Xun Zi's "courtesy",which provides help for people to correctly handle the relationship between individual and group,to establish the correct values thought referencing the correct ideas that Xun Zi handles the relationship between individual and group with courtesy.
