Rethinking On Art Language Of Lacquer Coa Ting Skills In Lacquer Painting

Lacquer features translucence and high-adhesiveness that makes lacquering texture could be exquisitely concealed below,exposed above or inlaid in the lacquering surface,which forms the inclusiveness of lacquer,and also the unlimited potential of lacquer paintings.Traditional lacquer coating skills recorded in The Book of Lacquer Coating were called "bright coating finishes" with its own limitations,and of which the main function was only to protect the lacquered piece.Comparatively,modern lacquer coating skills are more multi-functional by different materials of base coating,mainly divided as lacquer coating,gold coating and wood coating.In the lacquer painting works nowadays,lacquer coating and gold coating skills are mainly applied to enhance the artistic lacquering appeal.Hence,lacquer coating skills are important in modern lacquer painting works.In this paper,the author will do a specific analysis on the importance of lacquer coating skills in modern lacquer painting works through the study of lacquer coating and gold coating art effect by literature researches,data collections,interviews with lacquer painters,case analyses and specific practices.The first part of this paper summarizes the purpose,significance,also research status and methods of the thesis topic;in the second part,the author elaborates on the overview and classification of lacquer coating skills;the third part introduces the definition of traditional lacquer paintings and the development of modern ones;the research and analysis of lacquer coating skills are written in the fourth part,meanwhile,this part also shows the performance of lacquer coating and gold coating skills in lacquer paintings with different subjects;and in the last part,the author shows his own works to demonstrate the importance of lacquer coating skills in lacquer paintings.
