This article is based on the reduction, combing, and in-depth exploration of Cassirer's open artistic world.By tracing the symbolic attributes and cultural orientation of art, criticizing the essence of traditional art,and analyzing the concept of philosophy in terms of philosophical categories and artistic categories,we come to the conclusion that Cassirer takes the "form" as the core of the artistic essence."Form" is not only the core concept in Cassirer's symbol system, but also the conviction of grasping its art concept. The overall grasp of Cassirer's concept of art is a supplement to the original inadequate research. At the same time, grasping the essential connotation of Cassirer's view of the nature of art form is of great benefit to the development of today's art education and visual image research. This article is roughly divided into four parts. The first part, starting from the philosophical system of Cassirer, defines its artistic status and provides theoretical sources for its artistic concept. From the two aspects of Cassirer's philosophical system respectively: cultural philosophy and symbolic form philosophy. At the same time,Cassirer's concept of art has a pioneering, holistic view of human culture and the feature that "art is an independent and symbolic form." This chapter also explains the changes and development of Cassirer's thought in the history of philosophy,in order to provide a clear foundation of philosophical theories for the study of artistic issues below. The second part discusses Cassirer's critique of traditional art theory and grasps it from the history of art theory. It mainly comes down to the following three aspects: Firstly,it criticizes the art of imitation and emotional expression.Secondly,it examines the problems of art imagination in the aesthetic schools of classicism, romanticism, and naturalism.Thirdly, criticize and inherit modern aesthetic psychology. In the third part,he concretely develops Cassirer's view of the nature of art form and explores the theory of "formation" of art. This chapter mainly elaborates on two aspects: First,it traces the theoretical roots of Cassirer's theory of art formation;Second,he tries to resolve how the concept of form changes from the philosophical category to the artistic category, and the concrete manifestation of the essence view of art form.In the fourth part: Explain the enlightenment and influence brought by Cassirer's artistic concept. From the standpoint of Cassirer's own artistic claims,he conducted a historical investigation of the value and function of art education, and proposed that art is the only way to obtain freedom and liberate the mind.It is mainly explained through two aspects: the value of artistic emotional education and the value of aesthetic education. At the same time, his artistic concept has also deeply influenced the artistic theories of Susan Lange and Pannowski.
