Listening learning plays a very important role in the Chinese study of foreign students.It is necessary for teachers to instruct students' listening strategies in a certain systematic way while teaching listening classes.As a deep cognition activity,metacognition strategy plays an important role in guiding and coordinating in the listening process.To explore whether teachers can improve students' listening comprehension ability after metacognitive strategy training in listening teaching,5 students from the intermediate class of Bohai University as subjects and received the questionnaire survey,and 5 weeks metacognitive strategy training.Before the training,the results of questionnaire survey showed that these 5 foreign students used only listening strategies occasionally and did not receive systematic strategy training in listening process.After the training of the next metacognitive planning strategy,monitoring strategy,and evaluation strategy,the students were filled out with the same questionnaire before the training.The results of two surveys showed that students tend to be active in the active use of metacognitive strategies.At the same time,the results of the two listening tests of these students before and after training showed that the training of metacognitive strategies improved their awareness of metacognitive strategies,and most importantly,their listening performance was improved.In view of this,teachers in the listening class should pay attention to improving the training of metacognitive learning strategies in the class.While emphasizing the importance of metacognition,we should strengthen the penetration and guidance of metacognitive strategies and carry out targeted strategy training.
