Li Jieren,who hasn't written much in his life,has been one of the most influential writers of modern Chinese novels.As a writer of strong local traditional culture and new ideological and literary factors,Li has made great efforts to portray and inherit many factors of traditional culture in the era of transformation.At the same time,he also integrated the French naturalism and realism into his literary creation,which makes his creation a model of effective communication tradition and modern long historical novel.In this paper,a systematic analysis of the traditional culture,the modern consciousness and the integration of the two is presented.In the foreword,which reviewed the historical process of the study about Li Jieren,and summarized the historical process of establishing his important position in the literary history,summarized the research status of the scholars,and pointed out that the current complex and complicated integration of the traditional and modern works embodied in the creation of Li's "Great River Novel" was not yet new systematic review,which established the basic direction for the development of this thesis.The text of this thesis is discussed in three chapters,and discusses the regional changes,characters and creative techniques of Li's "the River Novel" trilogy,and discusses the efforts made by Li in the integration of tradition and modernity.The first chapter mainly analyzes the Chengdu of Li.The main part is to analyze the historical progress in the modern society,the infiltration of modern civilization in this region and the people's life,and the key description of the modern civilization's performance and connotation of the traditional culture shock of Chengdu.The second chapter analyzes the image of the males and females in the “the River Novel”.This chapter is divided into two sections,which explains the tradition and modern consciousness of the characters in the novel.From the concrete life of the specific characters,the change of thought can show the influence of modern civilization on traditional culture.In the third chapter,the author starts from the creation of the novel,and analyzes the multiple colors of Li's culture in The Times of the traditional and modern turbulent dialogue,which has not only maintained the continuity of the traditional culture,but also unstuck in the self-imposed self-absorption of the modern concepts,and found the many "ideations" in the comparison and collision between the traditional culture and modern culture,and achieved the integration of the two in a certain degree.The final conclusion mainly summarizes the significance of Li's attempts to integrate the traditional and modern literary practice in literary history,to show its modernity in promoting the development of Chinese modern novels,and briefly explain the various regrets and shortcomings of the thesis.
