Research On Adorno's Philosophy Of Art

Adorno is the main representative of Frankfurt School,a famous modern Western esthetics,and also one of the philosophers who attaches great importance to art in the history of Western philosophy.His thought of art philosophy has made an important contribution to the development of contemporary art philosophy theory.Adorno's philosophy of art is the product of the comprehensive influence of various ideas.The art view of Kant,Hegel and Heidegger has a close relationship with the formation of his philosophy,of art,and his thinking of art philosophy is also influenced by the mode of thinking of Marxism.Adorno developed the negation principle in traditional dialectical thinking into the principle of non identity,and his philosophy of art was based on this theory.At the same time,the social.condition after the Enlightenment and the flourishing of the cultural industry are also the soil of Adorno's philosophy of artAdorno emphasizes the essence and social function of art.He proposed that the essence of art is the combination of self-discipline and social reality.Self-discipline shows that art is not guided by the principles of reality,and it can maintain its true nature as art.Self-discipline includes the truth of art and the negation of art,which embodies the characteristics of self-discipline of art in modernism art.The social reality of art means that the source and content of art come from society.Because art is the combination of self-discipline and sociality,therefore,in this kind of union,the state of contradiction and conflict is inevitable,the art must keep the characteristic of self-discipline,as a kind of negative force,and serve as a function and task of criticizing society.When the art criticizes the social reality,it should adopt the critical way of integration,and criticize the traditional aesthetics theory and the contemporary culture industry vigorously.Because the development of traditional art or aesthetics is the identity of "beauty",but the modern culture industry is the capitalist to pursue the interest to cultivate the false art to enjoy,it with the same value and the same works and so on to create a batch of the same creator and recipient,so that it achieves seeking and ruling purposes.Compared with Marcuse's view of Art Essence,Adorno focuses on the negation of "identity" with."Non identity",in order to make art function in people's spirit,and Benjamin affirms the existence of art as a kind of "non identity" force and emphasizes the self-discipline of art.In the art function theory,Marcuse goes more far-reaching than Adorno in the way that art denies society and criticizes society.Benjamin,from the theory of art production,saw the great effect of technology as a productive force,and wanted to make the art more accessible to the public through the reproduction technology.To compare their philosophy of art will help to clarify the meaning and limitation of Adorno's philosophy of art,and on the basis of this research,the paper hopes to enlighten the development of contemporary Chinese culture.
