Metaphor is generally regarded as a kind of rhetorical device,and its history can be traced back to more than two thousand years ago.However,with the development of human beings,people's understanding of metaphor has changed constantly.In modern cognitive theory,Metaphor is a cognitive way,it is produced by the mapping from the source domain to the target domain.Color metaphor is one of them,which refers to the mapping from the color domain to the other cognitive domains.People's preference for color vary with age,sex and culture,young children show their preference for color at the early stage.The relationship between color and emotion is also a topic of constant discussion.How does the child's metaphorical relationship between color and emotion be expressed? Does their preference for color have any effect on it? In this study,90 children of 4-6 years of age were selected.The number of boys and girls in each age group was half.Through four tasks,children's color metaphor understanding is investigated.They are color preference task,color perception task,color selection task under emotional story and color selection task of emotional picture.The children's preference for color is regarded as one of the most important indexes,and the children's choice of color in different tasks is compared,and the rules are found.The reasons for children's color selection are also classified and statistically analyzed.The children's color selection results and their cause analysis results are combined to explore children's Color Metaphors in understanding emotions.Through the picture book reading activities of 4 year old children,we examined whether color metaphor related experience acquisition had an impact on their understanding of Color Metaphors in emotional expression.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:1,Children are affected by their own color preference when choosing color and emotion,showing positive emotions in their favorite colors and negative emotions with less like colors,and this tendency is more obvious in positive emotions.2,The extent of children's color preference varies with age.4 years old children's understanding of color metaphor is based on the visual perception of color.Children in 5 and 6 years of age begin to feel more influenced by the experience of life,and the understanding of metaphor is also more reasonable.3,In general,children do not have a stable understanding of the Color Metaphors of emotion until they are 6 years old,and have higher stability in positive emotional expression.4,Through related teaching activities,we can increase children's cognition of color and help them establish the relationship between color and emotion to some extent.The acquisition of relevant experience is more important than the effect of color preference.
