There were many studies of self-deception and deception in the past, but there are few empirical studies linking self deception and deception.Previous studies have found that in human deception, people can use at least four general tips(beyond fact finding)to detect other people's Deception:nervousness, inhibition, cognitive load and special source.Cognitive load is an important indicator of deception. This research consists of three behavioral experiments:(1)In Experiment 1,the single-factor trial was used to design experimental methods. The independent variables were the deception,self-deception,and control groups. The dependent variable was the subjective report score of cognitive load. The self-deception group induced the self-deception behavior of the participants in the forward-looking paradigm, the deception group induced the deceit behavior of the participants under the same experimental conditions, and set a blank group for comparison. The subjective report scores of the cognitive load of the three groups were performed. In comparison,it was found that the cognitive load score of the deception group was significantly higher than that of the self-deception group, and that of the self-deception group was significantly higher than that of the blank group.(2)In experiment 2,a mixed experiment design was used with 2(target social status:high vs low)×2(word nature:deceptive word vs non-deceptive word).Inducing participants to participate in a virtual deceit task, after using a word list in the previous period, using them to generate different memory codes for different social status goals, and counting the.numbers of deceptive words and non-deceptive words in their memory components, and compare the cognitive load scores of the participants when facing different social status goals. As a result,it was found that in the face of high social status goals, the number of Involuntary Conscious Memory deceptive words in the memory component was significantly lower than that of non-deceptive words, and the cognitive load scores of the subjects with high social status goals were significantly lower than the faced low ones.(3)Experiment 3 used cognitive load tasks to manipulate the cognitive load level of the subjects before the experiment, and then adopted a self-deceptive look-ahead paradigm.A between-subjects design was used with 2(cognitive load:high, low)× 2(answer:with,without).To investigate the accuracy of the second test in the self-deception paradigm of individuals facing different social status goals, and to find that the scores predicted by high cognitive load individuals are more inaccurate. The research results show that self-deception is an important indicator to save cognitive resources compared to deception, and its internal mechanism finds that self-deception individuals use memory self-adaptiveness to realize self through the loss of Involuntary Conscious Memory.deceive.In terms of external mechanisms, studies have found that individuals with high cognitive load will promote self-deception.This study explains the basis for the self-deception from the self-deception internal mechanism and the external mechanism. It also proves that self-deception as a way of interpersonal deception, compared with direct deception, has the advantages of saving cognitive resources and reducing The superiority of cognitive load generation makes it easier to escape the other person's recognition of lies and form a perfect deception.
