Listening,as one of the most important language skills, has always been a focus in the field of language teaching research.Previous researches show that learning strategies can effectively improve students' English proficiency. In addition, students' self-efficacy is also an important factor affecting their English proficiency. Therefore, researches about self-efficacy and learning strategies can better understand students' listening comprehension process and improve their listening proficiency effectively. In order to explore the frequency of using English listening strategies and improve the English listening self-efficacy of nonEnglish majors in Vocational College, the author carries out an empirical study on correlation among English listening self-efficacy,listening strategies and listening proficiency of Vocational College students. With the methods of literature, questionnaire and statistical analysis survey, choosing 239 freshmen of non-English Majors from a Vocational College in Zhangzhou as research subjects, the study aims to investigate the following questions:(1)What is the level of Vocational College Students' listening self-efficacy?(2)What is the frequency of Vocational College students' using English listening strategies?(3)Is there a correlation among English listening self-efficacy,listening strategies and listening proficiency? If there is,what is the correlation among them?Through the data analysis, the results indicate that:(1)The English listening self-efficacy of the Vocational College students is at a medium level(m=2.9079).In addition, the mean score of perceived basic capacity is 2.8954 while the mean score of perceived control is 2.8556.Furthermore,there is no significant difference between male students and female students in the level of English listening self-efficacy.(2)The frequency of Vocational College students' using English learning strategies is at a medium level(m=3.3326).And the mean score of five dimensions in the Scale from high to low is,in turn, social affective strategies(3.5941)?Meaning strategies(3.5314)?Mother-tongue reliance strategies(3.3912)?Form strategies(3.1715)and Meta-cognitive strategies(3.0669).There is a significant difference in the frequency of using listening strategies between male and female students(p=0.010<0.05).Female students(m=3.3856)use English listening strategies more frequently than male students(m=3.0526).(3)There is significant positive correlation among English listening self-efficacy,listening strategies and listening proficiency. And there is significant positive correlation between English listening self-efficacy and listening strategies(r=0.243).There is also significant positive correlation between English listening self-efficacy and listening proficiency(r=0.417).In addition, there is also significant positive correlation between English listening strategies and listening proficiency(r=0.341).Thus,in order to strengthen the level of Vocational College students' self-efficacy,increase their frequency of using English listening strategies and improve their listening proficiency, the relevant suggestions will be put forward, for instance, creation of relaxing learning atmosphere, systematic training of listening strategies, etc,.
