English writing is very important to high school English learning,but the current teaching situation of English writing is not satisfactory.Students lack interest in English writing,and teachers have made a lot of effort but have achieved little effect.This study attempts to adopt the teaching mode of flipped classroom from the perspective of ecological teaching to increase students' interest in English writing and improve their English writing ability effectively.The mode of flipped classroom subverts the teaching mode “teaching before practicing”in traditional class,and replaces teachers' teaching during the whole class by students' learning independently before class.In class,the interaction between teacher and students can attribute to completing the internalization of knowledge and enabling students to become true masters in the class.The theoretical foundations of the flipped classroom is ecological teaching.Ecological teaching is the application of the concept of ecology to education.It regard teachers,students,teaching environment and educational resources as ecological factors,aiming to create a dynamic,interactive and balanced teaching environment.This study tries to answer the following three questions.(1)From the perspective of ecological teaching,what are the effects of the application of filliped classroom in improving students' English writing competence?(2)From the perspective of ecological teaching,what are the effects of the application of filliped classroom in increasing students' interest in English writing?(3)From the perspective of ecological teaching,what are the effects of the application of filliped classroom in helping cultivate students' independent learning?This study is carried out in two classes of a senior high school in Panjin.The experimental group and the control group have 54 students respectively.In this study,questionnaire,pre-test,post-test and interview are used as the research instruments.The questionnaire is used to understand the changes of students' attitude towards English writing before and after the experiment.The changes of the English writing levels of the students before and after the experiment are investigated by the pre-test and the post-test.The data collected are analyzed by SPSS 19.0.Finally,the interview is used to investigate the students' attitude to flipped classroom.This study shows that the application of flipped classroom teaching mode has positive effects on the learning of English writing in senior high school,and the students in experimental group(EG)are more prominent in the post-test,their expression of English writing is more authentic,the logic of the article is clearer.The students in EG are more interested in English writing and have self-confidence in the tasks of English writing.Compared with control group(CG),the students in EG can learn English writing independently before and after class.The flipped classroom teaching mode is of great significance to change the teaching method of English writing.
