Analyses The Sheng Concertos <The Legend Of Wangfu Clouds>

“The Legend of Clouds with Affection” composed by Mr.Zhang Xiaofeng,is increasingly becoming one of the most popular Sheng concertos performed in various concerts and used in musical teaching.In particular,when this concerto is played by Master Sheng player,Mr.Weng Zhenfa,he adds a mixture of unique effects on the reflection and interpretation of this concerto.Through the interviews with and studies on the composer,Mr.Zhang Xiaofeng,and the performer,Mr.Weng Zhenfa,this article aims to conduct a detailed music analyses on performing styles,the perspectives of music i nterpretation.The article contains two sections.The first section primarily focuses on analyzing the background of the composer,Mr.Zhang Xiaofeng,the context when he composed “The Legend of Clouds with Affection”,as well as music structure.The second section mainly analyzes the secondary re-creation of “The Legend of Clouds with Affection” by Mr.Weng Zhenfa and his performance by using the 37 th Sheng Reed.
