The Process And Significance Of Role-building In Musical Performance

Musical performance as a foreign art performance category of western is becoming familiar and accepted by more and more people.In musical performance,the most important part is shaping of characters.In the face of so many different styles and themes of musical in the performance market,as a musical actress,how to accurately grasp the personality characteristics of different roles,the corresponding role shaping is particularly critical and important.And the key to role-building is the three parts: Voice,Body Language and Inner emotion.Just grasp these three key points,then the character on the stage will have his own life and soul.This paper focuses on these three key points,combined with the Chinese version musical "A Gentleman‘s Guide To Love And Murder" which the author participated in 2017 as the example,by analyzing the main female characters in the play:Phoebe.By participating in the discussion of play,the song deduction,theater rehearsal and performance practice,author discusses this musical play more,contacts the characters background and relationship,accurately grasps the role of the voice characteristics and body language expression,and analyses some singing sections of the role,and summarizes and discusses this kind of experience.Using this paper to throw away a brick in order to get a gem,it is better for musical actor shape other musical drama which in different roles in the future.
