Study On Patterns Of Famille Rose Porcelain In Yongzheng And Qianlong Period Of Qing Dynasty

In the late Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty,the porcelain craftsmen in Jingdezhen created the Famille Rose Porcelain on the basis of making secondary Colored Enamel Porcelain and Kangxi Multicolored Porcelain.This new type of porcelain flourished during the great reign of Kangxi and Qianlong.Different from other overglazed porcelain,the Famille Rose Porcelain is made from white porcelain glaze,painted with glass white and traditional Chinese coloring pigments,and fired at a low temperature.During the Yongzheng and Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty,the Famille Rose Porcelain enjoyed the favor of the royal family due to its soft and diverse colors,as well as its rich patterns.It is also at this period that the Famille Rose Porcelain became the mainstream export product of Chinese porcelain.Influenced by the western culture at that time,the decorative patterns on the Famille Rose Procelain have different coloring methods compared with other overglazed porcelain,which gives the product a three-dimensional feeling like the Colored Enamel Porcelain from the west,and a unique oriental implication from the east.The combination is intriguing.This paper aims at untangling the development and change of pink porcelain patterns in a complete and accurate way through the systematical classification and summarization of its the representatives from the Yongzheng and Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty.From the perspective of history,culture and art history,the author analyzed the patterns by taking a close look at the physical objects(cultural relics).The Famille Rose Porcelain patterns of the period were systematically sorted out by using the method of longitudinal comparison in this paper.Through the comparison of subject-matter,composition,painting form and other aspects,the author tried to analyze and compare the similarities and differences of the same thing in different times,in an effort to fulfill the gaps in this field within the current researches.Through the collection and analysis of objects,pictures and written materials,this paper held a firm believe that the decorative patterns on Famille Rose Porcelain in Qing Dynasty are deeply influenced by western culture,the result of which was the production of many decorative patterns characterized by western modelling colors.Based on the study of western technology and aesthetics and the research on the characteristics of Chinese traditional patterns,this paper discussed the patterns on the Famille Rose Porcelain in the aspect of physical objects.
